All this time the exchange closely cooperated with the investigation and provided the necessary information and documents. In November 2018 the crypto currency exchange has received notification that the bodies had presumably managed to find the stolen bitcoins. After returning the coins to the exchange management launched a program of rehabilitation of the affected users. BTC converted to dollars now and pay to the holders of RRT (Recovery Right Token).

Financial Director Giancarlo Bitfinex Devasiri also commented on the news.

Even two years after hacking Bitfinex we see the results of clear and credible strategy, the efforts of the government of the United States, as well as cooperation with law enforcement. We were delighted to indemnify our traders and would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who all this time tried to restore the stolen funds.

Immediately after breaking 2 August 2016 Bitfinex has taken a unique step by combining losses from all accounts and will pay the affected tokens BFX in the ratio of 1 to 1 with the stolen dollars. Now the stock exchange finally managed to fulfil their commitments to compensate for losses. For eight months after breaking all holders BFX tokens bought tokens for 100 cents on the dollar or exchange them for shares of capital stock iFinex Inc. Then all tokens BFX was destroyed in the process.

The advantage of the holders of RRT is that in the event of any recovery of stolen funds are then allocated among the holders of RRT in the ratio of 1 dollar for RRT. All bitcoins from the latest findings were distributed to the holders of the RRT, as tokens BFX has already been redeemed and destroyed. More data look at cryptodata.
