The stolen data users kryptomere sell on the darknet. Should we worry about?

Many of crypto currency exchange now require their users to pass the so-called verification of KYC. Sometimes those sites are hacked and stealing sensitive user data. According to the online CCN, the user of the black market on the darknet Dread under the name ExploitDOT sells a whole collection of stolen data.

The ad appeared in July 2018. In it, the attacker claims that got KYC documents including identity card and driver’s license – users leading cripture Bittrex, Poloniex, Bitfinex and Binance. With the online CCN anonymously contacted an expert on cyber security. He said that he had posed as a buyer and contacted the seller. That gave him three free sample for evidence of stolen documents. As additional proof, the expert also received photographs in which the account holders hold a piece of paper with the inscription Binance and the date of the snapshot. The photographs show the faces of users and their ID.

And even though the sample of documents was a little, the attacker claims that its database has data about users from all the countries where the work of crypto currency exchange.

We will remind, not so long ago it Binance recognized the most secure cryptocurrency exchange in the world. And as they say, they have a few assumptions, as it was possible to obtain this information. However, they note that unauthorized access of the exchange were not recorded.
