Switch on the Nintendo launched Linux

Two weeks ago a hacker with the nickname “fail0verflow,” found a vulnerability in the software Nintendo Switch, which allowed to load on the Linux console. The enthusiast decided not to stay and was able to run a full Assembly on the device.

As operating system the hacker chose KDE Plasma. It provided tactile interaction with the console through the touch input, and also allowed to access the Internet.

In the video you can see that Nintendo is quite the Switch works fine with Linux on Board. The device leaves the sleep mode by touch of the display, can adjust the brightness level of the screen, and recognizes multiple simultaneous touches.

Hacker “fail0verflow” does not disclose details of the exploit and not puts the instructions for installing Linux on the Nintendo Switch. However, he notes that the vulnerability is not enough just to release a patch. The problem requires the intervention of the hardware.
