Sir Patrick Stewart will be back on screens in the image of Jean-Luc Picard

Good news for fans of kynoselen “Star trek” (Star Trek): sir Patrick Stewart will play Jean-Luc Picard in the new project of CBS All Access.

The British actor announced during an unexpected appearance at the annual Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas on Saturday, and also said at Twitter. He said: “the Fact that I am again full of enthusiasm and energy, returning to this role is an unexpected but delightful surprise. I’m ready for a new adventure with Picard”.

Let me remind you, sir Patrick Stewart has played Picard in 178 episodes of the science fiction television series from 1987 to 1994, and in four feature films, the last of which came in 2002.

Alex Kurtzman, Executive producer of the new show, which has yet to be named, said: “We are honoured to work again with sir Patrick Stewart in the new “Star trek”.

“For over 20 years fans have been hoping for the return of captain Jean-Luc Picard, and this day has finally arrived. We hope to open new horizons, surprise people and conquer both the new and old generation of fans,” said Alex Kurtzman.
