“Roscosmos” refuses rocket “Soyuz-FG”

The head of “Roskosmos” Dmitry Rogozin has shared on his Twitter plans for the next ten late. It became known that the operation of the carrier rocket “Soyuz-FG” will be discontinued at the end of 2019. Manned spacecraft “Soyuz MS” will be launched from Baikonur January 2020 on the rocket “Soyuz 2.1.a”. Stopping the use of “Soyuz-FG” almost certainly due to the obsolescence of the model and that 11 Oct accident of the carrier rocket of this type is due to abnormal separation of the first and second stages of the rocket.

Fortunately, in accident nobody suffered: cosmonaut Alexei Ovchinin and astronaut Nick Hague, successfully landed in the capsule.

“Soyuz-FG”, being a modification of “Soyuz-U”, stood on the exploitation of “Roscosmos” for almost twenty years: in the first flight of the rocket went in may 2001. In the summer of 2018, it became known that the RCC “Progress” plans to cease production of “Soyuz-FG” due to the fact that the production of rockets are used by Ukrainian components.

But what the future holds for “Roskosmos” from the words of Dmitry Rogozin.

2022 beginning of flight tests of rocket middle class “Soyuz-5” to fly unmanned (KA), from 2023 in variant with a new manned spacecraft (PTK).

2025 — end of life RN “proton-M”. Translation launches heavy rocket at #East

2023 — start of operation of the 2nd starting complex (IC) to Angara light and heavy classes;

2026 — beginning of flight tests of the Angara 5V with a hydrogen stage;

2028 — started 3rd SK Union for PH-5 and PH superheavy class, including PTK

At the same time on both spaceports continues operation of the rocket “Soyuz-2” of various modifications, including at Baikonur of the manned version of the spacecraft “Soyuz MS”. At the end of 2019 terminates operation of LV “Soyuz FG”, from January 2020, “Union MS” will to fly “Soyuz-2.1.a”
