Retro console Ataribox now Atari VCS, pre-sale will begin in April

Last fall we reported that Atari was developing a new gaming console Ataribox. Now it became known that the device will be called the Atari VCS and will be available for pre-order in April this year.

Console appearance reminiscent of the Atari 2600 console. The company confirmed that the set will go classic controller and a modern gamepad.

Inside the Atari VCS is installed on all customized AMD processor and Radeon graphics. Of the connection interfaces are available with HDMI, USB, Ethernet, and memory card slot.

No more details about the console yet. Players promise to turn their TV into a “full PC”. Applications will be available for streaming, surfing the Internet, social networking, and gamers will get access to a catalog of classic games for the Atari.

The exact date of the presentation of the Atari VCS has not yet named. However, Atari plans to begin accepting pre-orders in April of this year. The cost of the console is expected in the range of 250-300$.
