Earlier this week, we told you that Netflix was testing a way they seem to encourage children to watch more TV and movies available on its platform. It is stated on the form of medals or badges kids can collect them when you watch presentations that work somehow as a reward or achievement of some kind. Not surprisingly, this raised some eyebrows.

The good news for parents who may feel concerned about their children who spend more time in watching TV more than they should is that Netflix apparently decided not to proceed at this idea. It has been confirmed in a statement sent by the company Netflix for Engadget.

According to Netflix, it has stated by saying : ” We’re done with the test decals and we decided not to proceed at this feature designed for children. We test a lot of things in Netflix to find out what works well and what does not work well for our members. “ Given that this feature was under test, it wasn’t widespread, so users will not miss this feature.

However, the Netflix is not alone in facing criticism due to encourage children to spend more time in front of the TV screen. Launched Facebook recently Messenger Kids which matches advocates for children’s health shut it down because of the concern that such applications may undermine the growth of the child.
