Microsoft plans to unveil the second generation HoloLens this year

Sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans, reported that the company from Redmond is planning to introduce augmented reality headset HoloLens 2 this year.

It is assumed that the announcement of HoloLens 2 will take place in the second half of 2018, and the delivery will start in 2019. It is known that the device is being developed under the code name of Sydney. HoloLens 2 will have a larger field of view, as well as recycled design that will make the helmet lighter and more comfortable to wear.

In addition, HoloLens 2 will include a new generation of Kinect sensors and a special chip of artificial intelligence to improve performance. While Microsoft intends to significantly reduce the cost of a headset, to encourage its promotion in the market.

Management 2 HoloLens will be using a special version of Windows 10 designed to work in augmented reality mode.
