Lyft has hired the former Manager of the Tesla Autopilot for the development of Autonomous cars

Samir Qureshi resigned from his post of senior Manager, Autopilot at Tesla and joined Lyft, it became known of it from his profile on LinkedIn. Tesla declined to comment, but Lyft confirmed that Qureshi joined the company this week. In Lyft Qureshi is a Director in the product of Autonomous driving and focus on creating autopilot Lyft level 5 (the last). Level 5 is when the person does not need to be driving. Tesla Qureshi “was responsible for the whole software package of the autopilot among all cars Tesla and all platforms” more than a year. To be clear, Qureshi was not an Executive Director, Vice President and Director, and one of 4,000 managers in Tesla (and Lyft came to the kings). Prior to his last position in Tesla Qureshi was appointed senior Manager of software and firmware in the Tesla for over two years.

Lyft first launched its unit self-driving cars in July 2017. At the time the project was managed by the Vice President of technology Lyft Luke Vincent. Since then, Lyft has partnered with a supplier of the automobile industry the highest level Magna in creating Autonomous vehicles. Magna has also invested $ 200 million in Lyft in exchange for equity participation.
