In Dubai tested the world’s first Autonomous cab

At the summit of World Government Summit, which took place in Dubai from 11 to 13 February, visitors were transported the world’s first Autonomous cabin Next Future Transportation.

The Autonomous cabin is designed to move short distances on dedicated tracks. They can connect among themselves, forming a structure resembling a tram.

Cabins are quite compact in size (2.87х2.24х2.82 meters) and can accommodate 10 passengers. The number of seats to six. Cabins move at an average speed of 20 km/hour, built-in rechargeable battery lasts for three hours (charging takes about six hours). Within the vehicle-mounted camera and security system that ensure complete safety while riding.



The office for roads and transport of Dubai (RTA) has signed an agreement with the company Next Future Transportation Inc. on the establishment of Autonomous cabs NX1. CEO of RTA Mattar al Tayer said that the standalone cabins are part of a strategy of Dubai to increase the share of Autonomous transport to 25% by 2030.
