Mining without attachments

Engineers Power Grid discovered several high-voltage cables, illegally connected to the room in the attic of a house on the outskirts of the city, Fanshun. The miners stole 33 thousand kWh of energy, which should be enough for mining a few bitcoins.

Electricity was used for continuous charging 56 smartphones that had installed the application for mining. In addition, homegrown miners used a few ASIC devices.

As the newspaper notes, bitcoin mining using smartphones — non-profit business, as the devices have low computational power. For the most part, the phones only use power. However, given that farm owners did not pay for electricity, they were still able to earn.

Now miners are arrested, and local police are investigating a case of theft of electricity on a large scale. What sanctions threaten the miners was not reported.
