How to receive SMS messages on iPad and Mac using your iPhone

Few people know, but to send and receive SMS messages directly on your iPad or Mac. The only condition for this — the iPhone nearby, and the option “call Forwarding”. Let us discuss this in more detail.

As you know, all conversations in iMessage sync between devices via iCloud. However, for obvious reasons, this does not apply to SMS messages. Fortunately, this problem is now solved — if you activate the option “call Forwarding”.

The function must have the device installed iOS 8.1. The minimum threshold for Mac computers — OS X Yosemite. Of course, all should work under the same Apple ID and iMessage.

How to enable?

  • Launch “Settings” on your iPhone.
  • Go to the “Messages”, then select “Forwarding”

  • Displays a list of all connected devices.

  • It remains only to activate the toggle switch next to the iPad or Mac.
  • You will need to enter the verification code on the selected device.
  • After the scanning, the option will be activated.

Everything is ready. It remains only to test the function in.
