How to enable the Android developer options and speed up system

One of the best and most popular ways to improve the performance of your smartphone (at least visually) is to speed up the animation interface. This is a very simple trick, but in order to do that you need to enable “developer Options”. Developer options – this is something like a secret room for Android enthusiasts that allow you to do really cool things. There you can not only speed up animation, but to force all apps to run in multi-window mode and more. If you are an experienced Android user, you definitely need to know these techniques.

Enable developer options

Developer options have been available since Android 4.2 and since then they were hidden in approximately the same place. The good news is that these options are easy to activate, and they work the same on virtually every smartphone or tablet running Android. The following steps should work on any device with a version of “green robot” KitKat or newer. The process may be slightly different from device to device, but be aware that you just need to find “build Number”.

  1. Go to “Settings” > “About phone/tablet”
  2. (Some phones there is an extra step. Tap “software Information”)
  3. Locate the item with the build number and tap it several times
  4. Stop tap, when you see that “you are now a developer”
  5. Go back to the main settings page
  6. You should see a new item “developer Options” at the bottom of the settings list or in the advanced settings (“Advanced”)

For Android Oreo and above:

  1. Go to “Settings” > “System” > “About phone”
  2. Find build number and tap it several times
  3. Stop tap, when you see that “you are now a developer”
  4. Go to “Settings” > “System”
  5. You should now see “developer Options”

Why is it necessary?

As we mentioned above, there are a few clever tricks that can be done with developer options. The trick, we recommend you to do first is to speed up animations and transitions. It will make your smartphone feel faster when you will open your application and navigate the interface. Every Android user should know this simple trick.

Accelerated smartphone

  1. Follow the steps above to activate developer options
  2. Go to developer options
  3. Scroll down and locate the setting “window Animations” and set its value to 5x
  4. Also, set the “Animation transitions” at 5x
  5. Select “animation Duration” 5x

Of course, animation can be turned off completely, but, in our opinion, it is better to use, but just to accelerate. Once you’re all done, return to the home screen and turn off display using power button. Now Wake up your smartphone and enjoy a faster interface.

Get all applications to work in a multi-window mode

In Android 7.0 introduces its own multi-window mode, but not all apps support it. In fact, it does not support many applications which makes it not very useful, but in this case there is a way to force compatibility with the new feature, and all you have to do is go back to the developer options.

  1. Follow the steps above to turn on developer options
  2. Go to developer options
  3. Scroll down and enable “resize in MDI mode”
  4. Restart your phone

Now you can open any app in multiwindow mode. It should be noted that some apps may force close when you transfer them in multi mode. In applications that do not support it will display “This app may not work in multiwindow mode,” but most of them still work just fine.
