How to create a bootable USB flash drive with the installer macOS

Creating a bootable USB drive with macOS

  • Downloading the image connected the drive to our Mac.
  • Ask the drive a new name for convenience — USB. This can be done in the context menu of the Finder.
  • The next step is to run the application “Terminal” using Spotlight or any other convenient method.

  • After that we will need to confirm the operation of formatting the drive — the password of the administrator.
  • Depending on the speed of the drive, all the data will be copied to a USB flash drive for 5-15 minutes. You’re done!

It remains only to restart the Mac while holding Option key, choose the drive and install macOS.
