Google Maps can now tell where there is free charging for electric vehicles

Google announced another update to the Maps application: now it’s possible to learn all the necessary information about nearby charging stations and directions to them with the remaining charge of the electric vehicle.

Owners of electric cars simply enter in search box “ev charging” or “EV charging stations”, and the screen displays the nearest charging stations. To find out whether your vehicle is at the station, just click on one of them. There you will see information about the available connector types, charge rate, free ports, cost, etc. in addition, you can read the reviews of other users about a particular station.

Also, from now on companies that are engaged in charging stations can provide information about them.

Today in Google Maps you can find information about the Tesla and Chargepoint stations worldwide; SemaConnect, EVgo and Blink – in the United States, Chargemaster and Pod Point in the UK; Chargefox in Australia and New Zealand.
