Google has released a separate podcast app for Android

Podcasts are now widely popular on iOS. Google didn’t pay them much attention, and it’s pretty sad. However, lately the situation is changing. Not so long ago Google has implemented in the built-in search option to look for and listen to podcasts, and now we can talk about the release of a full application Google Podcasts.

The main task of the app — listening to podcasts. The application is made with completely new Material Design 2.0, and the main window is divided into different categories: top podcasts popular podcasts podcasts in the category of “Humor”, and so on.

On the podcast’s page you have the option to subscribe, see the available editions and a brief description of the podcast. Overall the app is very similar to those in iOS. However, in contrast to iOS, here you can donate money by clicking on the appropriate button. The donation for some reason is not available everywhere. If the release used profanity, is displayed near the corresponding icon.

In addition, you can listen to podcasts on multiple devices. For example, if you are finished listening on the phone, you can continue to Google Home. In the future the company plans to add podcasts in a number of interesting features based on AI. The app will translate speech to text, to display what they say in podcasts and also podcasts to translate into different languages. These functions the company showed another Google I/O 2018.

Interestingly, the size of the installer is only 111 KB. How they managed to achieve this?
