Google Allo – all. The company closes the messenger in the spring of 2019

Never happened, and here it is again. Google is closing its once messenger.

In its blog Google said that the messenger Allo, which was introduced only 2 years ago at a conference I/O in 2016, will run until March 2019, after which it will be permanently closed. By the way, the company ceased to develop it in April of this year. Thus, users have the ability to export the message history before the deadline.

Google will focus on development of applications, Messages, Duo, Hangouts Hangouts Chat and Meet (the“usual” Hangouts is also closed). “Message” has already received some pieces of Allo: Smart Reply, support GIF, web version. But more importantly – the Protocol support Rich Communication Service. It is possible that Messages will finally be similar to the iMessage for Android. In the U.S. mobile operator Verizon officially launches RCS service Chat (which works through Messages) on smartphones Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL 6 Dec.

How do you feel about these disturbances among Google services? Personally, I like messenger Allo, was very good attempt from Google to create a universal messenger for all platforms with interesting features. But, unfortunately, did not take off. And what do you think about the RCS service Chat? Will you communicate with friends via the Messages app (will support transferring photos/videos to group chats, etc.) or will remain in the Telegram?
