First Android Go smartphones will present at MWC 2018

The first smartphones running Android Go will be launched during the Mobile Congress in Barcelona. This was told by senior Vice-President of Google Hiroshi Lockheimer. According to him, the event will show several devices based on a lightweight version of the OS, to provide consumers with more choice.

Android Go is a lightweight version of the original operating system from Google, designed for devices lower price segment. Because these devices have no more than 1 GB of RAM and a processor with low computing power, simplified Android Go provides them with stable work.

Google long been preparing for the appearance on the market of devices on Android Go. To do this, the developers have released a simplified version of our applications, thus reducing disk space. Almost all applications marked Go is only compatible with Android version 8.0 or 8.1, depriving the owners of outdated devices to install them.
