Canadian startup creates a motorcycle with a new generation of 5G and collective learning

While the cars are being actively introduced electric motors and artificial intelligence, in the field of motorcycles has been observed quite a long period of stagnation. Perhaps to change this situation would be a new motorcycle company Damon from Vancouver, Canada — she is developing several technologies that will eventually unite the signature bike of the new generation. The main features will be the system of protection against collisions with support for 5G, and changing its form design.

At the moment the company is $ 2.5 million, and mostly this amount is spent on development of system of prevention of possible clashes called the Advanced Warning System for Motorcycles (AWSM). It includes radar, cameras and other sensors that are planned to be mounted on the housing of the future of the motorcycle — they can predict the trajectory up to 64 participants of traffic, and alert the rider about the possible collisions.

New motorcycles with 5G-Internet

According to engineers, the best methods of prevention are applied to motorcycle led strip vibrating arm and a built-in dashboard display providing a broad overview of everything that is happening in the back of a motorcycle. The accuracy of recognition of a dangerous situation on the roads will continue to grow because motorcycles Damon planned to combine into a single network using 5G connection. They will sync through the company’s servers, and share with each other effective ways of avoiding accidents.

Also part of the money goes to the development of a transformable structure of the motorcycle. It is expected that its seat and footrest are located on the moving mechanisms and slide up and down. Because of this, motorcyclists will be able to raise or lower the seat and handlebars to ensure a comfortable body position and good view of the road.

Police motorcycle with new technologies

The company has already started the Assembly of a motorcycle with a transformable design — at the moment we know that the upcoming prototype will be equipped with electric motor Zero Z-Force. At the same time, the company is testing the system AWSM, giving it a police Agency in West Vancouver. Radar, cameras and sensors installed in police motorcycles BMW R 1250 RT-P — the company hopes that in the future it will be able to sell the system to third parties.

The creation of a system of motorcycle safety is also engaged in the Taiwanese company Senzar. Its technology also consists of a set of different sensors, but provides control only of 9 meters in the field on both sides of the motorcycle, whereas firm Damon promises 360-degree view. Nevertheless, the Taiwanese technology also has its own characteristics and you can read them in our article.

How you consider, whether the canadian company to fulfill all its promises? What do you think about evolving it technologies? Your opinion can be share in the comments or in our Telegram chat.
