Bose SoundSport Free — the best headphones for your smartphone

In the regiment of these wireless headphones has arrived! This year the party broke with their new Bose SoundSport in-ear Free, which aroused genuine interest not only audiophiles, but anyone who’s heard of this brand (but I know its many, it’s Bose, come on!). And while you’re there, order from China perehodnik to connect to their Android ordinary wired headphones (all the same should be repeated for one company and remove the minijack from the smartphone), we’re actively tested SoundSport Free and ready to tell us what this “fruit” is so good, and what else to work on.

Why are we talking about “real” wireless headphones, are there others? But there is, and many of you know them: for example, is still popular headphones, which, though wireless, but connected by a headband, where the cable is still there. Or are there “plugs”, which are also bound by wire — certified by the manufacturer to the microphone with a remote control on it put (seriously?). And there are headphones like the AirPods, which are generally not bound by wires and are charged by the charging case. However, Apple was not the first who came up with the concept of a true wireless — it was ahead of the Swedes from Earin. But many still believe that everything is invented in Cupertino: all because of a common love for “apples”.

But we are made from another “test”, so let’s not compare Bose headphones with AirPods. First, they made very different needs. And despite the similar concept, SoundSport Free work differently.

What’s in the box?

The box itself is beautiful, if you choose these headphones as a gift, with wrapping paper you do not bother. After opening the box you immediately see the earphones themselves (though, in the charging case), package with accessories slightly below and stylishly decorated the cover, which depicts a runner, he is about to beat the record of Usain Bolt. And in my ears he is just SoundSport Free.

At the bottom of the box is a black envelope with the documentation, which is replaceable ear pads size S and L (M ear pads already installed on the headphones) and cable with micro-USB connector for charging the case.

And look cool!

Speaking of appearance, it is difficult to assess the look of one earphone separately from the other, as it is impossible to evaluate the appearance of the headphones separately from the case. Both the headset and case, you will have to take, so ergonomics have to be good in all cases. Bose have managed to make a stylish convenient charging case, which is easy to take along even in a short trip.

The case has an interesting design and high-quality “soft-touch” coating. When you press the open button the case opens up and lights up LEDs that report the status of the battery case.

In case the headphones are neatly placed under each special recess. So you do not get them mixed up and put into different nests.

On each earcup controls. On the right is the Play/Pause button. She accepts or rejects the call, calls voice assistants, switch tracks. And a button to add/decrease the volume. And on the left is a pair button on Bluetooth.

Headphones look very rich (logo Bose also does his own), they are made of plastic, and the outer side has a special coating that protects the case from sweat. Yes, these headphones are protected from contact with rain and sweat to the IPX4 standard. To swim in the pool will not work, but to run a sprint. Copper contacts for charging the headphones is made without any flaws.

Beautiful, and sound like?

Cheat, if you say that this is the best sound in the segment. However, for this headphones can be forgiven, and micro-USB port in the charging case (2018, Type-C!) and slightly larger dimensions that require getting used to the first couple of days.

Sound incredibly cool. The bass is pronounced, not rumble, as sometimes happens in earphones for sports. The vocals are a little push forward to the middle frequencies in General no complaints. Top a little quieter than I would like, but nothing criminal. SoundSport Free do not support aptX, however sports headphones. Noise reduction is intentionally average, during sports and Jogging you should hear what is happening around.

Headphones can be controlled via the proprietary Bose Connect app, available for iOS and Android. The app allows you to update ON the headphones, adjust the voice prompts to do the manual pairing and more. Even a miniature player is.

Bluetooth headphones do not impose such high demands for source-wired so they can be linked to any Android-smartphone. We listened to them with Oppo Find Google Pixel X and 2XL, in all cases, the headphones have shown themselves at the highest level.

What else to say, turned out awesome Bose headphones for their purposes. SoundSport specialises in Free and very attractive sound, do not fall in the ears and working with a mobile app. Price for some may seem high but they are worth every ruble spent.
