Apple’s App Store banned in Iran and responsible unknown

Blocked Iranians from downloading applications from Apple’s app store, where said security researcher Iranian that since about Thursday afternoon not able to citizens inside Iran have access to Apple’s App Store is only using a virtual private network VPN which can be used to hide the actual physical location of the user.

It is unclear yet whether Apple is responsible for the ban or even have knowledge of it, and did not respond to requests for comment until now.

Due to US sanctions, did not sell Apple products in Iran. Instead, it is the import of hardware mostly from Hong Kong, where the iPhone 8 is available in Tehran within 24 hours after its global launch.

Internet users in Iran are familiar with large corporate virtual private VPN for to the level of control and imposed by the government, it is unlikely that this new ban is a big obstacle.
